The European Board of Urology (EBU) is a section office of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). The EBU is an independent organisation with the objective to promote and harmonise the highest level of urological training in Europe at both basic and postgraduate level.
As part of the objective, EBU offers the annual European Board Examinations in Urology; these consist of:
Successful candidates of the FEBU written examination receive a certificate. The FEBU diploma is issued to those who subsequently pass the FEBU oral examination. The title Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU), which is to be considered a "Mark of Excellence", is increasingly recognised by many institutions worldwide.
Since 2004 the EBU has been organizing the written examination on the last day of the EUREP. Participation is restricted to EUREP-course participants and is subject to EBU eligibility criteria.

Time FEBU written examination: 13.30 – 16.00
The FEBU written examination consist of 150 multiple choice questions and covers the entire field of urology, including related sciences. The examination is in English and must be completed within 2,5 hours. There is no direct relation between the content of the EUREP course and the FEBU written examination.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants meeting the following criteria can register:
• Final year residents being trained in a UEMS/EBU member country*
• Certified urologists
Participants for whom the FEBU written examination is mandatory are requested to contact their National Urological Associations before registering. This concerns urological trainees from Austria, Hungary, Poland, The Netherlands and Switzerland.

Please note that registration for the EUREP course does not include registration for the FEBU written examination! Please follow the following steps:
Step 1. Online registration. Applicants should register through the EBU Online Registration System (www.ebu.com) between 1 June and 5 August 2012. An automatically generated email will be sent to confirm the online registration.
Step 2. Complete registration - Submit documents
After completing the online registration, the applicant has to submit the required documents. All the documents must be sent in hard copy by regular postal mail and received at the EBU office before the indicated deadline.
Urologists are required to submit:A photocopy of their national board certificate (in English);

Step 3. Payment of examination fee
Once the documents are reviewed and the application is approved the applicant will receive the confirmation of eligibility and the invoice covering the examination fee. Participation can only be guaranteed if the examination fee is paid in time.
Important note: The registration procedure for the European Board Examination in Urology is entirely independent from the EUREP course registration process. Consequently, required documents should always be submitted to the EBU office otherwise the application cannot be processed.
